BELOVED, IF GOD SO LOVED US, WE OUGHT TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER

(1 John 4:11)

How did God love us, the greatest way that God has shown his love to us is to give his only begotten son to come and die for our sins. (John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life). You can open the passage to read and meditate on it.

That is the greatest love anybody can show to anyone. We have children, when we lost any of our children it is so painful because we have had some bonds with that child. Even if it is a stillbirth, for the fact we have carried that child in our womb and go through the pain of nine-month pregnancy hormones and all the health challenge that goes with pregnancy we still feel the pain as a mother. Even as a father, for going through the pregnancy period with the wife and later the child was delivered as stillbirth or grow up at a certain extent and later died is so painful and hurtful. No words can be used to compare the pains or describe the agony and sorrows that transpired during that period.

But God did not withhold his son from us to come and die. Imagine his son that was with him before the world was created. We can see that in (John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.) You can see they were together before the world began, they shared the same ideas together, fought for the world together, discussed things together, feel the stress of creation of the world together, (because it is not easy to create all the living things on the planet earth even in heaven) together with their wisdom and divine power and supremacy, the world came into existence.

When the world was in a chaos of sin, the father and son came together to discuss the solution for the world and the two of them came to a close conclusion or agreement that, the son have to offer himself to die for the whole world and use his blood to liberate the sins of mankind. It won't be easy for both of them but something has to be done for the world not to be destroyed. And God still shows that he cares for us on earth and to send Jesus his only begotten son to come and die. It was some much love and excess love expressed for all mankind. And that is how we ought to love ourselves.

God has shown us the example of love and that is how we suppose to love one another, care for one another, be one another brothers/sister keeper. But unfortunately, the devil has come to the earth to turn us against ourselves, to the extent that some much sin has beclouded the earth, we hate each other, we lie against each other, fight against each other, envy each other, and use all kinds of opprobrious, vitriolic, libelous and contumelious words on each other and show all manners of wickedness against each other. And this is what the bible said in the book of Galatians 5:21 (envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.)

That is what the devil wants from us, to hate and fight each other so that we can never inherit the kingdom of God that loved us so much and gave his only begotten son, to come and die for us and also showed us his own love. So we need to overcome the hatred that the devil has implanted in us against each other with the love of God. But we need to love wisely because the world is indeed is full of evil.

But above all, there is no force more powerful than the love of God for us. So we ought to love each other With the love of God.

Prayer points

1.    Oh God of Love, fill me with your love. In Jesus name

2.    Oh God! remove the spirit of hatred from me.

3.    God is love so will I be filled with love in Jesus name

4.     Arrows of hatred fired into my life, scatter by fire in Jesus.

5.    Voices of hatred speaking into my life, scatter by fire in Jesus's name.
