BUT WHY DID YOU STEAL MY GODS?

Now Rachel had taken the household gods and put them inside her camel’s saddle and was sitting on them. Laban searched through everything in the tent but found nothing. Gen 31:34.

A lot of Christians are suffering today because of what the enemies have stolen from them, instead of things being in surfeits in their lives, things are usually in scarcity, paucity, dearth, etc. why because their destinies have been stolen by physical and spiritual pilfers.

In this verse which is also a story in the bible, Rachel was a physical pilfer who stole her father's gods. The gods that her father worshipped and was still worshipping and bowing down to it, that was the gods his daughter Rachel stole.

And some of us might have read in the bible that her father has to consult these gods for him to know if Jacob was a blessing to his household or a curse, and it was his divining to these gods that he eventually found out that Jacob was actually a blessing.

But Laban said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by divination that the Lord has blessed me because of you.”(Gen 30:27)

So, you can see that, that gods mean a lot to Rachel's father and Rachel went to steal it and sat on it. The father has to travel for seven days to look for his gods. One would say, it is just an idol what is he doing with it, but to the father, it was his telescope to view spiritual things and a satellite dish in space to explore information, in other words, it was his very much adorned treasured. It is what he uses as protection for himself and his household. And it was that same god he used to discern the life of Jacob while Jacob was living with them.

Jacob going with his daughters and grandchild did not agonized agonize the father much, but his gods missing was what infuriated the father the most and made him travel all the way to the country of Gilead to catch up with Jacob, thinking he was the one that stole the gods. But it wasn't Jacob rather it was Jacob's wife Rachel the daughter of Laban that took his gods.

And Laban was ready to harm Jacob because of that, if not that the God of Jacob's fathers, God of Abraham and Isaac has to warn Laban in his dream probably Jacob would have been a dead man.

Now let's look at the story, in our everyday lives, a lot of us are under the same bondage of spiritual and physical Rachel that would take what belongs to us and sit on it. And even be threatening our lives. Some can't go to their villages again because one uncle or aunty has taken their birthright and threatened to kill them if they try to defend their rights.

Some have even been sent to jail and have no one to save them or defend their cause because they have no influence or are not influential. Some have been killed in other for what belongs to them to be sealed and permanently kept by their oppressor.

A lot of people have been made a vagabond because of their bright stars that have been stolen by their wicked oppressors. Some that are alive and intended to find out what is happening to their lives/destinies were suddenly truncated because they wanted to go deeper about what is happening around their lives and find out why are things not working properly the way they ought to be. Others have one way or the other been afflicted with mental problems to shut their month forever by their oppressive Rachels.

Some many lives have been derailed and stolen by these wicked Rachels. Some are drug addicts or junkies because their Rachels has stolen their destinies and sat on them. A lot and a lot of evil are going on because of these Rachels of man or woman in the society that has stolen peoples destinies.

So we need to arise and go after them in prayers and recover what they have stolen from us the way Laban did, Laban traveled for seven days to go after whoever he thought stole his gods. That seven days means seven days fasting, if we can engage ourselves in fasting and prayers before we physically confront some is good kudos. But some of them don't need physical confrontations, they need radical prayer confrontations.

Another person who also went after his enemies was King David. When the Amalekites came and raided Negev and Ziklag and took everything he had, I mean everything! He cried until he was exhausted but he strengthened and encouraged himself in the Lord and went after them for total recovery.

David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it, and had taken captive the women and everyone else in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way.

When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. David’s two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David was greatly distressed because his men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him, and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.” (1 Sam 30:1-8)

We can see from the above verse, David did not relent and accepted his situation like that, he encouraged himself and brace himself and a warrior which he was and inquire from the Lord, in fact, he asked for the ephod from Abiathar the priest, and solicited for God's guidance and went after them and indeed he succeeded and recovered all the Amalekites stole from him.

Brethren we need to arise and recover all that the enemies have stolen from us. If they are still persistent like Rachel and refuse to stand up under the disguise of the monthly circle, then we command for our properties under that buttock to be a volcano, and you and I know that no one can sit on top of a volcano!

Prayer Points:

  1. Every power sitting on top of my progress, if they don't stand up under 24 hours, I command the volcanic eruption of the holy ghost come against them in Jesus name.

  2. This year must vomit my blessing and millions like the way the big fish vomited Jonah in Jesus' name.

  3. Evil Rachel sitting on top of my treasures, stand up or you catch fire in Jesus name

  4. I refuse to be poor for evil Rachel to use my wealth to be rich in Jesus name

  5. I cannot be wretched while evil Rachels are using my wealth to be lovely and beautiful in the figure in Jesus name

  6. By the grace of God upon my life, I will live a life of surfeit not a life of paucity in Jesus'  name.
