"Love one another with brotherly affection, giving precedence and showing honor to one another." — Romans 12:10
Divine Love: A Shield and a Weapon
The love of
God is more than an emotion—it is a divine power that
protects, heals, and blesses. Apostle Paul exhorts us to love with brotherly
affection, the kind of love reserved for family.
- This love builds the
body of Christ.
- This love neutralizes
envy, strife, malice, and wickedness.
- This love opens doors
for God’s favor in your life.
When you love
sincerely, without hypocrisy, you attract God’s blessings and protection. But
where love is absent, the enemy finds room to plant conflict, delay,
and death.
The Contrast
Between the Righteous and the Wicked
Isaiah 48:22
says: “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.”
- The wicked live in turmoil
because their hearts and actions oppose God’s order.
- They attract curses instead of
blessings, and their plans are rooted in evil.
- Even if they seem
powerful, sudden disaster awaits them, for God watches and
judges the wicked.
Proverbs 3:33
confirms: “The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but He
blesses the home of the righteous.”
- Love and righteousness
bring peace, favor, and divine protection.
- Wickedness invites conflict,
accidents, sickness, and destruction.
Practical
Steps to Love Sincerely
- See others as family – Treat your fellow believer as a brother or sister, and your
neighbor as an extension of God’s household. The new commandment of Jesus was to love your neighbour
as yourself; when you love your neighbour as you love yourself, you
will see them as family. But love wisely, for the days are full of evil.
- Abhor evil, cling to good – Reject malicious gossip, backbiting, and hypocrisy. Embrace
righteousness in speech and actions.
- Honor and give precedence – Value others above yourself; show respect
in word and deed.
- Pray for enemies – Love includes interceding for those who oppose you. Irrespective of their
offences, it is not easy to pray for them, but when you do, the Lord himself
will diligently reward.
Romans 12:9
(AMPC) says: “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what
is evil. Cling to what is good.”
Love and
affection become a shield—a spiritual force field against attacks,
delays, and spiritual sabotage.
Love Protects Your Family and Life
- Families rooted in love attract
God’s blessings.
- Communities guided by love
experience peace, prosperity, and divine favor.
- Your prayers are amplified
when love governs your heart, for God responds to a heart aligned with
His will.
“A house
under a curse is filled with conflict and turmoil; a house under God’s blessing
is filled with peace and provision.”
