WHY DO YOU TROUBLE THE WOMAN?

And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the Leper,  a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table. 8 But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.” 10 But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me. (Matt 26:6-10 NKJV)

(Another translation of verse 10 from Amp Bible) But Jesus, fully aware of this, said to them, Why do you bother the woman? She has done a noble (praiseworthy and beautiful) thing to Me.

In life, whatever you do, there are people who will always or sporadically raise an eyebrow or talk negatively or positively about it, but it all depends on the motive you did it, that is when the seer and the knower of all secrets will defend you. From the above scripture, the woman came to Jesus with an alabaster flask of expensive fragrant oil, and poured it on Jesus's head but the disciples were very indignant about it and saw it as a waste of money. Thank God, that the woman did it from her heart with good motives and intentions that made Jesus Christ defends her, even when she was being mocked and rebuked by his disciples.

In fact, Jesus being the greatest and supernatural philosopher reading the purpose of the woman's act have to tell them, that THE WOMAN HAS DONE A GOOD WORK FOR HIM. If you finish the story, you will see that Jesus even said that the woman has prepared him for his burial and what the woman did, will be a memorial for her and wherever the Bible is being preached in the whole world, what she did will be remembered.

That is how we are supposed to live our lives, a life of good works irrespective of the circumstances, whether people will be indignant of it or not, we should live the life of good work. It is only our master, Jesus Christ of Nazareth that will reward us. If we are waiting for men to applaud us, we might wait in vain, although there are people that men gives applaud or give appraisal for their good work because of how they had lived their life or work in the organization. But there are some people, no matter their effort and the vigour they put in for their good work, they will not be given any appraisal or reward but mockery and punishment.

But the God that searcheth and knoweth the heart, who is the greatest rewarder, knows how to reward those that are diligent. For the bible said in Heb 11:6 But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. You can see how he rewarded the woman because of her sincere act. Whether you are a man or a woman, don't stop doing good, I have heard a lot of people telling their stories of how they have been hurt because of their good deeds, don't because of someone's misjudge-mental critic about your benevolence and stop doing good that will bring you the master's reward. As far as you did it for God and not for man, he will definitely reward you.

Let us see other scriptures for our encouragement, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal 6:9.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Col 3:23-24.

We can see from these two scriptures that, it is God that rewards, not man. Keep doing good and our master Jesus Christ will surely reward and defend you from the implacable enemies that will be indignant of your good deeds.
