THE GRAVE WILL NOT BE READY FOR ME

 

My spirit is broken,

My days are extinguished,

The grave is ready for me. (Job 17:1)

God forbid, I say it again, God forbid, the grave will not be ready for me when it is not my time. The devil is a liar if it is not the right time for me. No power can take my life. For it is written, who will say and have it happened when God has not said it.

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? (Lam 3:37).

Job was yowling and whining these sorrowful words because the enemy, who is the devil, had crushed his spirit. He was left with a broken heart and a crushed spirit. Then, all Job was thinking was for the grave to come and take him; that was his conclusion, “that the grave is ready for him”. 

Even his bosom friends who came to visit him when he was in agony were mocking him in his critical period because the devil incited God to ruin him without any reason.

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.” (Job 2:3)

And because of that, He lost everything, His wealth, His children, and his wife came and told him to curse God and die, and his health was also badly challenged by the Devil as well. Indeed, he was in a catastrophic trial period that left his spirit broken. And the situation makes him feel that his days are extinguished, and he started saying that the grave is ready for him, thinking that he will die in that problem. He never knew that God had told the devil you might touch his flesh, but you must not touch his soul. 

So, child of God, no matter the situation that the enemy has thrown at you, the grave will not be your portion; you are covered and protected by the blood of Jesus. They might touch your finances, but your blood and life are in the hands of God, and God has promised he will not leave you nor forsake you.

But unfortunately, that is the condition or situation the enemy wants to keep some of us in. And because of the painful agony we are passing through, we start confessing negative things, and the devil will be rejoicing that the ailment is working massively against us. We are now confessing negative things that will make God not deliver us because our faith is not strong enough for God to challenge the devil on our behalf.

Most of us don't know that some of the challenges, trials, and obstacles that come our way are to test our faith in God. To see if we can trust God enough to overcome that situation, the way Job trusted God. Job was never aware that his catastrophic situation was a discussion between Almighty God and the devil. And the devil was evil and quick to destroy his entire lifetime's acquisition in just one day! But despite Job's despondency, he still declared I know my redeemer liveth.

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: (Job 19:25) KJV.

Let us learn to declare the word of the Lord in every situation, no matter how bad is the quagmire or the arrows thrown at us, let us present the problem before the Lord in prayer as Job did he praised God in his situation, and was still declaring the word of the Lord in his agonizing predicament that frustrated and disappointed the devil, who was expecting him to curse God and die so that his soul will go to hell, but instead that, Job bless the name of the Lord.

He said, “Naked (without possessions) I came [into this world] from my mother’s womb, And naked I will return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord. (Job 1:21 AMP)

I know of somebody who was sick, and she was so broken in the spirit that she asked death to come and take her because she was tired of living. But thank God, prayers were made on her before, and the arrow of that sickness and death was commanded from her and sent back to the sender, and she was healed. Assuming God permitted that death she asked for when she was so broken in the spirit, she would have died and left loved ones around who would suffer her painful departure. But the almighty God foreboded it.

In conclusion, no matter how bad the situation or circumstances you find yourself in, never invite the powers of the grave into that situation or declare your days are extinguished, as Job said, and the grave is ready for you. But declare that your redeemer liveth and will deliver you from that situation. The grave will never be ready for you, no matter how they have planned it; I repeat, the grave will never be prepared for you now and forevermore. Except when your time has come, but if it's not your time, no grave fashioned against you shall ever prosper.

I reject every power of the grave over me and my household in Jesus name. Amen
